Arlene forms in the GoM, slams into Mexico

Arlene formed rapidly in the Gulf of Mexico, and then intensified quickly into a tropical storm, coming just shy of hurricane status before making landfall in Mexico, south of Tampico. Veracruz state will take the brunt of the storm, and as it moves inland, it will likely affect San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, and Hidalgo states. Minimal damage is expected, but the storm is going to bring needed rainfall to eastern Mexico.
